Smithsonian staff are doing some planning around the LOD-LAM summit. Today, a group of us met to talk about projects, data sets, and such. We’ll have more of these sessions to talk about what’s up and what’s happening so that participants can know what kinds of things the Smithsonian will have to offer.

Hi Smithsonian crew! Martin, this is awesome! I’d love to hear more about your strategy, questions and content, as I think this is a great idea for many institutions that are sending delegates to the LOD-LAM Summit. Having a meeting or two before as well as after the Summit to help represent multiple voices from an institution will no doubt add to the mileage, but also allow a way for folks to tap in to what’s going on real-time throughout the Summit. I know places like Harvard, UNC, Library of Congress, UC Berkeley among many others had more potential delegates than we could provide spots for and may also be taking this kind of approach.
Right now, we’re just openly chatting. Hoping to see what kinds of low hanging fruit we have that we can have quick wins with. Hoping to use LOD-LAM to ignite interest across the Smithsonian. Already planning the post-event projects.
